Synthesis and Thermal Decomposition Mechanism of Copper(Ⅱ) Benzoate

  • Copper benzoate was synthesized by semi-solid phase reaction and its structure characterized.The mechanism of thermal decomposition for copper benzoate was studied by TG、 DTG and XRD techniques.The thermal decomposition of copper benzoate in nitrogen atmosphere proceeded in two stages.23.7% weight loss occurred at the first stage and 29.0% at the second stage.Compounds formed from decomposition reaction were mainly benzophenone,benzyl and copper oxide.
