The Synthesis of α-hydroxy Phosphonate Compounds without Solvents

In the existence of triethyl amine(Et3N) as a catalytic,α-hydroxy phosphonates are prepared from aromatic aldehydes and diethyl phosphite by one-step successive reaction at room temperature without solvents. This method provides several advantages such as high yield(86%～99%) ,simple work-up procedure,shorter reaction time,milder conditions and environ-mental friendliness,and show its widely applied value.
