SSR marker primer and its application on identification of tea plant “Xinyang 10”

  • Aiming at the problem that “Xinyang 10” is not easily identified among tea germplasm based on phenotype or biochemical components, SSR molecular marker primers were developed to genotype tea germplasm based on “Shuchazao (SCZ)” genomic data, and the identification of “Xinyang 10” among tea germplasm was studied. Eight tea germplasm randomly selected from 188 tea germplasm were genotyped with randomly selected SSR markers and the results showed that the SSR marker primer SCZSSR03 was polymorphic and was selected. Using the primer to genotype 188 tea germplasm,the DNA banding pattern of “Xinyang 10” was significantly different from those of 187 other tea germplasm. The SCZSSR03 molecular marker primer screened can effectively identify “Xinyang 10”, and the molecular marker technology for identifying “Xinyang 10” was established based on the SSR marker, which can provide germplasm identification technology for tea germplasm resource research, genetic improvement and protection by utilizing “Xinyang 10” variety.
