Abstract: This paper represents a survey of digital watermarking techniques. First, general concepts and fundamental principles of digital watermarking are explained. Then, generic model, basic characteristic and typical algorithm are discussed in detail with various applications. Based on summary of the development and state-of-art of the technology, the application foregrounds and the research directions are discussed and forecasted.
