Abstract: Stochastic comparisons of the inactivity time and the residual life between a parallel or series system of used components and a used system were developed.Cases of reversed hazard rate order,hazard rate order and up shifted likelihood ratio order were investigated,respectively.When the number of components in a system and the life of old system or old components are random,the comparison results were presented as well.
