Poverty and Way-out of Geography(Ⅱ) ——The Fractal Direction of Geographical Development

  • 摘要: 本文认为分形研究是未来地理学发展的主要方向。地理学研究对象的基本特征是差异性,差异性暗示了地理学的空间信息科学性质,而Shannon熵与Hausdorf维数等价,这表明分形维数可以作为地理系统信息分析的定量判据,故可借助分形几何学实现地理学的数量化;另外,运用分形模型进行地理系统的计算机模拟,可以弥补地理研究不可实验性的不足。地理学可望建立比较严格的逻辑体系。

     

    Abstract: A new direction was indicated to develop geography.The essential characteristic of the geographic object of study is differencity which means that geography is a subject on geo-spatial information.Considering that Hausdorff dimension is equivalent to Shannon entropy which is hard to be determined in a geo-system,we can use fractal dimension to analyse geographical phenomena instead of entropy functions.Geography can be quantifized with fractal geometry,and fractal simulations can be used to make up the shor...
