Abstract: A system of retarted functional differential equation is proposed as a predator-prey model with stage structure in the prey.Mathematical analyses of the model equations with regard to invariance of non-negativity,nature of equilibria and global stability are analyzed.It is shown that in this model the time delay can cause a stable equilibrium to become unstable.
