Abstract: Observations on the breeding biology of Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) have been taken in Zhengzhou urban area, Henan province from 2000 to 2003. The results show that Egretta garzetta stayed in urban breeding area for 145 days from the beginning of April to the end of August. The average clutch size is 5.14±0.69(4~6), the brood size is 4.43±1.27(2~6). Incubation period was 25.14±0.69(24~26)days. Hatching success rate is 86.11%.
