Abstract: A preliminary study was made in the paper on hierarchy of the urban system in Henan province.The fractal property has degenerated to some extent and the value of fractal dimension. Namely,the Pareto coefficient (or exponent) has been gradual increasing,which maybe caused mainly by the strategy of urban development presented in China in 1980s,and,in the end,it was pointed out that the hierarchical structure of the system of cities must be improved with fractal idea.
