Abstract: A relation between an increase in the ohmic resistance and the ohmic restriction resistance of a conducting plate with a sharply changing width is shown.Results of the calculation are in good agreement with a known Govorkov's formula.An analysis of the conception "lengthening" is carried out and conditions of the applicability of Govorkov's formula for plates of finite length are considered.
