Abstract: With the rapid progress of multimedia,the traditional information retrieval techniques based on keywords are not sufficient.Then the research is shifted to the techniques of content-based image retrieval.In this paper,some key issues on CBIR are discussed such as image feature extraction,similarity measures,the relevance feedback,the performance evaluation,and so on.Some future research directions are also given in the conclusion.
