Abstract: There are many records of turtleclove in the Book of Songs.Inquiries were made based on the critical interpretation of ancient texts and the modern zoology.It was concluded that turtleclove refered to four different kinds of species,i.e.Pandion haliaetus,Falco amurensis,Streptopelia orientalis and Cuculis canorus scientifically.
