Abstract: Calixarene is a new class of macrocyclic compounds,having unique structure and the ability to be easily derivatized,thus it has advantages in acting as catalysts.This paper reviews the research activities of calixarenes in the area of inverse phase transfer catalysts,artificial enzyme and the others in recent years.
