Abstract:
A novel visible‑light‑driven solvent‑dependent strategy for the synthesis of aryl sulfones was demonstrated. With Ir(ppy)
3 as photocatalyst, aryl sulfonyl chlorides and boronic acids as substrates, potassium carbonate as base, 1,2‑dichloroethane as solvent and water as additive, the proposed strategy could afford various aryl sulfones in 32%~93% yields at room temperature under blue light irradiation. In addition, the application of the strategy in preparation of celecoxib analogue was achieved.
