Abstract:
Based on the 2018 dynamic monitoring data of the floating population, mathematical statistical methods and geographically weighted regression models were used to reveal the spatial differentiation and influencing factors of the divorce rate among the floating population. The results showed that high divorce rate areas among the floating population are concentrated in the Northeast Three Provinces and the southwest Sichuan-Chongqing region. The causes of the divorce rate among the floating population exhibited evident spatial heterogeneity. In the northeast region, marital breakdown was observed due to the frequent family conflicts resulting from unemployment among state-owned enterprise employees during the transition period of the unit system. On the other hand, in the southwest region, there was an increasing trend of utilizing internet media to seek "romantic partners" as a consequence of its impact in information-deprived areas. The southeast coastal region exhibited a rise in individual divorces driven by the emergence of women's self-independence consciousness under the gender imbalance situation, with the goal of seeking happiness.
