Abstract:
Based on 30 m ASTER GDEM data in the ArcGIS 10.3 environment, firstly, the optimal window for extracting macro geomorphic factors in the Yangmingshan area of Hunan province was analyzed using the mean-change point method. Subsequently, nine terrain factors, including elevation, slope, aspect, plane curvature, slope curvature, relief, surface roughness, surface cutting degree and elevation variation coefficient of this area were extracted. Then, the correlation coefficients between these terrain factors were analyzed using a correlation coefficient matrix. The optimal combination of terrain factors reflecting the geomorphic characteristics of the Yangmingshan area was determined. Finally, the geomorphic types of the Yangmingshan area were divided based on the optimal combination of terrain factors. The results indicated that the optimal window for extracting macroscopic geomorphic factors in the Yangmingshan area is 0.56 km
2, and the optimal combination of terrain factors to describe the area is altitude and relief. Among them, the altitude of the area ranges from 58 to 1613 m, mostly below 500 m, and the relief ranges from 0 to 674 m, with the main being medium relief. According to the geomorphic zoning standards and based on altitude, the area can be divided into two levels: Low altitude and medium altitude. Based on the relief, the area can be divided into five categories: Plain, plateau, hill, small relief mountain and medium relief mountain. Combing the elevation and topographic relief, the basic landform types in this area can be divided into 8 categories, mainly low-altitude hills and small relief low mountains, accounting for 38.90% and 47.23% of the Yangmingshan area, respectively.
