Abstract:
Based on ArcGIS platform and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data, watershed extraction and river classification were conducted in the Tongbai-Dabie Mountain area. The drainage density and hypsometric integral (HI) of each watershed were extracted and calculated to obtain the spatial distribution characteristics of the drainage density and HI in the study area. The results show that the drainage density in the study area ranges from 1.048 to 1.842 km/km
2, with a mean value of about 1.565 km/km
2; the HI values range from 0.12 to 0.51, with a mean value of about 0.31. The spatial distribution of drainage density and HI values in the study area do not show significant variability. The geomorphic development in the study area is in the mature and old stages, and is relatively homogeneous in space.
