Abstract:
The China's north-south regional differentiation is reviewed through three dimensions: Natural ecological environment, industrial production activities and individual adaptive habits. In terms of the natural ecological environment, the variation in water and heat combination has resulted in the Qinling and Huaihe river line becoming the boundary between subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests and temperate deciduous broad-leaved forests in China. This also accounts for the differences in soil development and river ice conditions between northern and southern China. In terms of industrial production and agricultural activities, such as land use, crop selection and harvesting methods, there are distinct regional differences. This north-south regional differentiation is also evident in the energy sector, traditional architecture styles and transportation modes. Regarding individual fitness habits, the significant regional variations exist in height, body type, personality traits, clothing preferences and dietary habits.
