Abstract:
The deciduous broad-leaved natural forest is the main forest type on the southern slope of Funiu Mountain in Henan province. Twenty-eight plots are set up in the deciduous broa-leaved natural forest in this region, and the multivariate regression tree (MRT) and redundancy analysis (RDA) methods are used to classify and ordinate this forest types, respectively. The results show that the natural deciduous broad-leaved forest on the southern slope of Funiu mountain could be divided into three community types. The
Quercus variabilis community is mainly distributed in the altitude range of 600~1 030 m. The
Quercus glandulifera var.
brevipetiolata community is mostly distributed in the middle mountain area at an altitude range of 1 100~1 400 m, while the
Quercus aliena var.
acutiserrata community is mainly distributed in the middle and high altitude area of 1 326~1 830 m. The RDA ranking well reflectes the relationship between deciduous broad-leaved natural forest communities and environmental factors, and the interpretation rate of environmental factors on plant distribution is 69.6%. Altitude, soil organic matter, total nitrogen, soil bulk density, ammonium nitrogen, total phosphorus, and nitrate nitrogen has significant effects on the community distribution of deciduous broad-leaved natural forests in this study area (
P < 0.01). Altitude, total nitrogen, soil organic matter, and soil bulk density are the key environmental factors affecting the distribution of the deciduous broad-leaved natural forest community on the southern slope of Funiu mountain.
