Abstract:
Water-retaining materials were prepared from fly ash, acrylic acid and acrylamide by ultrasound-assisted aqueous solution polymerization. Structure of the materials was characterized by SEM, and the influence of the preparation conditions on the water absorption was studied. The results show that fly ash is well polymerized with the organic phase and effectively dispersed in the polymer. When the fly ash is 20% of the monomer mass of the acrylic acid, the inducer is 0.01%, the crosslinker is 0.03%, the acrylic amine is 20% and the neutralization degree is 0.7, the composite material has a water absorption rate of 203 g/g.
