Abstract:
Root phenotype,
DR5∷
GUS activity, and expression of auxin biosynthesis and polar auxin transport genes in rice seedlings treated with ethephon were studied. The results demonstrated that lateral root elongation was promoted in seedling treated with low-concentration of ethephon, and lateral root inition and elongation was decreaed in seedling treated with high-concentration of ethephon. Furthermore, primary root length was shorter and root hair was longer in seedling treated with high-concentration of ethephon compared with control. GUS activity was increased in the ethephon treated
