Abstract:
ZnO particles were modified by dodecyltrimethoxysilane (DTMS). Polyurethane foam (PU foam) was coated by modified ZnO particles and named as ZnO-PU foam, which was used for oil absorption directly. The surface structure and morphology of ZnO-PU foam were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and contact angle (CA), and oil-absorption performance of ZnO-PU foam were explored. The results were as follows: (1) the water contact angle of the ZnO-PU foam was 153°, being superhydrophobic; (2) ZnO-PU foam had good oil-absorption performance for different oils with the maximum oil-absorption capacity of 9.55 g/g and the water-absorption capacity of 0.58 g/g. It can be used repeatedly. The ZnO-PU foam was a oil-absorption material with good comprehensive property.
