Abstract:
A new gelator TP based on tetraphenylethylene derivative was designed and synthesized which could form an organogel in 1, 4-dioxane. The self-assembly process of TP was characterized by UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence emission spectra, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and water contact angle. The experiment results showed that a fibers structure obtained in the self-assembly process had some hydrophobility with the contact angle of 136°. The hydrogen bond and van der Waals force were the main driving force for the gel formation.
