Abstract:
The chemical composition and microstructure of mineralogical characteristics of three typical non-metallic minerals from Shangtianti, Xinyang, were studied. The microstructure and morphology of the minerals were characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The adsorption properties of three minerals to Pb(Ⅱ) in aqueous solution were investigated systematically. The results showed that the main components of the three minerals are amorphous SiO
2, calcium bentonite and clinoptilolite, respectively. Expected adsorption properties for aqueous Pb(Ⅱ) were acquired with three minerals at 30℃, and the adsorption capacity reached 2.0, 9.8 and 7.6 mg/g, respectively.
