Abstract:
Gd
2O
3 ∶ Eu
3+,Gd
2O
3∶ Yb
3+and Gd
2O
3∶ Eu
3+,Yb
3+ phosphors were prepared by sol-gel method. The influence of preparing condition was studied,and their structures were characterized. The results showed that the concentration quenching phenomenon should take place if the concentration of Yb
3+is high. Eu
3+ could transfer energy to adjacent Yb
3+ ions effectively through cooperative energy transfer process and the cross relaxation process. Upon excitation of the characteristic excitation of Eu
3+ at 314 nm, the characteristic emission of Eu
3+ from 550~750 nm and NIR emissions of Yb
3+ characteristic emission from 900~1100 nm were obtained. The obtained Gd
2O
3∶ Eu
3+,Yb
3+ phosphors could transfer 300~550 nm high-energy photon which was weaker to NIR photon which was obsorbed strongly, which could improve the photovoltaic efficiency of the Si-solar cell
