Abstract: The development level of the status quo of sports industry in the Central China was located by using the methods of literature research, mathematical statistics, expert interviews and others  . The results showed that there was the rudiment of sports industry cluster in central plains economic region, and each area could complement each other’s advantages. However, the development was still in the initial stage. This article analyzed what efforts should be made for the formation of the sports industry cluster in central plains economic region, and provided advice such as finding opportunity, basing on the market, focusing on the cities, developing human resources, combining resources, and so on
