Abstract:
Eggs and larvae of Papilio xuthus Linnaeus collected in the wild were fed by host plant and offered by adults nectar plants. Their descendants were used of the sources of second, third and overwintering generation. The results showed that Papilio xuthus Linnaeus could complete 3 generations in Zhengzhou area, egg stage is 5 ~7 days, larva stage is 15 ~24 days, pupa stage is 9 ~15 days, and the over⁃wintering pupa stage is 140 ~156 days, adult stage is 10 ~12 days. At the same time, the morphological characteristics of egg, 5 instars of larva, pupa and adult were given.
