Abstract: The advances in theory and application of shearlets were reviewed. Firstly, the basic theory of shearlets was introduced, including band limited and compactly support shearlets, continuous and discrete shearlet transform. Secondly,its applications in imaging sciences were summarized. Finally, the further research opics were pointed out.
