Abstract: The composition and topology of Zigbee network were discussed. A smart home system based on Zigbee technology was designed. The system consists of Zigbee network devices and the embedded gateway. Zigbee network devices collect information of home equipments and transmit command.The embedded gateway processes data and  communicates with remote users by internet or GPRS.Users can control the system by browser. The system has good extensibility, reliability and robustness due to using a mesh topology.
