Abstract:
The natural zeolite was modified with NaOH assisted with microwave. On the basis of single factor experiments, the optimization methods were as follows: 0.5 mol/L of NaOH, 480 W of microwave power, 5 min of radiation time. The adsorption behavior of the modified zeolite to Zn
2+ in waste water was investigated. The results showed that the modified zeolite could greatly enhance absorption capability of Zn
2+. Under the optimum conditions, the removal rate of Zn
2+ (50 mg/L) in water by modified zeolite could be up to 95.68%. According to the adsorption isotherm curves, the adsorption model of Langmuir was better than Freundlich in simulating this adsorption process. The adsorption kinetics of modified zeolite can be well described by pseudo-second-order kinetic equation
